Infectious diseases are illnesses that pass from one organism to another.  Infectious diseases can be spread in one of four ways:

  • through contact with an infected person,
  • a contaminated object
  • an infected animal
  • an environmental source

Disease-causing agents, such as viruses and bacteria, are known as pathogens. You will research one bacterial or viral pathogen and produce a poster with certain information about that pathogen and the disease it causes.
