For those teachers who hold a professional certification, you must complete 175 hours of professional development every five years. The five year period begins July 1 of the year following the effective date of your Professional Certification. If you currently hold an Initial Certification, you are NOT required to complete the 175 hours until you receive your professional certification.
If you hold a Professional Certification in more than one content area, you are only required to complete a total 175 hours in a five year period.
The school district reports professional development on your behalf. However, you are required to keep all records of your professional development. |
