When I first walked in to the media center and I saw the eye I was like, "WOW"! The eye felt squishy and wet. It smelt like feet. It was difficult because it was so squishy. I liked it when the lens fell out. I did not like it when we could not cut it. |
The eye dissection was a fun and disgusting experience. The eye was very difficult to cut. Once the eye dissection was over I wish that I did touch the eye because I probably won't dissect anything until I am in seventh grade. My favorite part about dissecting an eye was the lens. I never would have thought the lens was so clear that you could read through it. My least favorite part was when I first came in and the eye wasn't cut at all. |
When I first saw the eye it looked disgusting and freaky. I thought it would be more round but instead it is more like a blob. At first I was scared to touch it but then I wanted to and I did. It was so cool. I saw the pupil, the optic nerve, and the lens. The best part was when had to cut out the lens. I thought it would be hard to cut open and it was. What I liked the least was when we saw that eye surgery video. It didn't really have a smell. I was also right when I said that the eye will feel mushy and squshy. That is what I thought about dissecting a pig's eye. |
My thoughts on the eye dissection was that it was not difficult, and that it was cool to dissect something for the first time. My favorite part was seeing the eye for the first time, it really didn't look like what I expected it to look like! It was all fatty, pink, and squishy! It was even more squishy and soft than I thought it would be! Those are my thoughts on the eye dissection. |
The eye dissection was really cool. I liked when I cut the cornea and everything oozed out and the eye became flat. I was surprised that I did not see the pupil because it was a hole. I really enjoyed it. |
My thoughts after the eye dissection are that most of my guesses were correct. The only thing that I was wrong on was that it didn't smell bad; it smelled like ham which shouldn't have been a surprise considering it was a pig's eye. My favorite part was when we got to cut the eye wide open. I think that the eye dissection was a realy cool experience because we aren't suppossed to dissect anything until 7th grade so that was really fun. |
My thoughts after the eye dissection are that when I dissected the eye black gooey stuff was in it. There was fat all arond the eye and we had to cut it off. There was no retina in the eye. The lens magnified all the words on a piece of paper. There was blood all around the eye. The aqueous humor popped out of the eye when we cut it. It smelled like dog poop (like my prediction). It felt squishy, and it was kind of hard to find the parts of the eye. I liked it when I cut out the eye brow. |
My feelings about the the dissection was that I was really excited. When I touched the eye it was really soft and cold. The eye smelled like chemicals a little bit. The dissecton was very interesting and educating. The thing I liked the most was popping out the lens. It wasn't thin or thick. It was a ball. The least thing I liked was having the iris come out really slimey. |
I was surprised that the eye was smaller than I thought it was. I liked it when the lens slid right out. What I didn't like was that when I tried to cut it open it kept on slipping through my hands. I liked the video too. I learned a lot about eye surgery like if some one needs cataract surgery they suck up the old lens and put in a whole new one that expands in the eye. It was really cool to watch the new lens expand in the eye. |
I had a really good time dissecting the eye. I thought it was really cool. When I cut it open there was a black liquid that came out. We also cut the cornea and it was so cool. The eye felt squishy and mushy. It smelled really bad and it smelled like a dog went to the bathroom. It was a little difficlut to cut it open. My favorite part about it was when the lens popped out and it was clear. It was so cool. The thing I liked the least was seeing the optic nerve. The eye looked alive! How gross is that! Besides that I thought it was really cool. Once again it was really fun. I hope I get to dissect something again next year. That is how I feel about dissecting a pig's eye. |
When I was dissecting the pig's eye I found it very hard to cut open. It was very fun but very disgusting! I saw a few parts of the eye because it takes a while to cut the cornea off and cut the eye in half. The most challenging part was cutting the eye in half. It's also hard to tell whether the lens popped out or not. I didn't know that my group's eye lens fell out when we were cutting the cornea off and we were squeezing a lot of the aqueous humor out. To me the lens blended in a lot with the aqueous humor. I liked dissecting the pig's eye. |
The eye of the pig was AWESOME but disgusting. When we opened the eye all that goo squirted out. When I held it, it was all squishy. When I held it I think that it blinked at me so I blinked right back at it. We cut off the eye lid and I plucked all of it's last eye lashes off and wished on them. When we cut off the top part of the eye it split in half and there was black stuff everywhere. |
I felt really disgusted because it was very slimy looking. I couldnt belive how that is what our eye looks like too. When the lens popped out it was very white and gross looking. But it was very interesting. One thing that I discovered was that its so hard to take the cornea out and cut it. Also the pig's eye has a very pretty pupil and it was a nice dark blue. But I was still feeling sick inside. What I realized was that inside it is all black. It was really cool. I have to be honest, I felt more disgusted than I did before. There was this thing underneath called the optic nerve. It was really interestng. I enjoyed it a lot. I made it, thank goodness. |
When I first saw the pig's eye, I was a little grossed out and nervous. Then, when I got on my gloves, I got really excited. When I touched the eye, it felt slimey and gooey. Surprisingly, it didn't smell bad. When my group and I tried cutting open the eye, it was very difficult. We had a lot of trouble finding the parts of the eye. What I liked the most was when we tried cutting the eye open. What I liked the least was seeing the optic nerve. I had a lot of fun dissecting a pig's eye. |
After the eye dissection I felt more digusted than I did before. When I touched it, my finger bouced right back to me. Surprisingly, the eye didn't smell. It was really hard to cut the eye open because it was really slimey. The only thing I liked looking at was the color of the iris. It was a pretty blue. Even though I was very disgusted I enjoyed my time and know that I was very lucky to be a 5th grader who dissected a pig's eye. |
I loved the eye dissection. It was so interesting and fun. The part I liked the most was when we got to cut around the pupil. It felt soft and smooshy. It felt cold especially when I noticed that my glove ripped. When we were cutting it in half the lens popped out without us touching it. At first, we didn't know what it was until Dr.Steiner asked us if we found the lens and we said we didn't know, but then she saw it on the side of the tray. The part I liked the least was when we had to watch the video of the cataract surgery and the lasix sugery and it was disgusting! It didn't smell but it was hard. I really liked the dissection. |
I was not nervous, and I was actually excited. It felt like it was jello and it did not smell. It was difficult because of all the fat and muscle. The part I liked the most was when the vitreous humor squirted out. |
I think the dissection was pretty cool even though I had to cut open a pig's eye and see the optic nerve. My favorite part was the optic nerve and all the other things we learned. My least favorite part was when we cut it open and saw the aqueous humor. |
I wish I could say the dissection was great, but I can't because I wasn't there!! Unfortunately I was sick when my class dissected the eye. I was very disappointed but I'm glad my class enjoyed it!! |
The eye dissection was really fun! As I thought, I wasn't scared because I've done it before, except when I saw the eye for the first time, then I got used to it. It felt hard and sticky and when we cut it, it smelled HORRIBLE! When the cornea popped out, I was really surprised, that must have been the coolest. It was kind of funny how so many people were afraid of it. It was really interesting seeing all the parts of the eye we learned about in real life.
That's all folks! :3 |
Well, at first I thought it wouldn't be gross, and it wasn't. It looked different than I expected though. I expected it to be a firm round sphere. It actually looked like a rubber mask before you put it on. It was just as exciting as I pictured it. My favorite part was when we squeezed the lens out of the eye. It was just as "slimy and mushy" as everyone guessed, and it was an experience I will never forget. |
When I first saw that eye, I was so creeped out because there was a pink part that was really gross. It was awesome to see all the parts of an eye but this time it was real so I was kind of scared because what if I cut the wrong thing would I mess it up???? Then when the lens popped out that was the coolest thing. It was difficult to cut it and was a little hard to cut. After the dissection I said to myself, "Did I just disssect an eye?" and I said, "Cool!" |
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The eye dissection was very fun. I had a great time. It was a little disgusting, but interesting. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The funnest part was when the lens popped right out of the eye! When we put the lens on the piece of paper the letters got bigger, and most of my hypothesis was right. I thought the eye would be gooy and it was! |
I was really excited when I saw the eye. Okay, maybe not that excited because of the meat, eyelids, and the eyelashes. I did figure out that nobody else would pick up the whole entire eye. I was the only one who picked up the eye. I was the bravest one in the group. The eye smelled like a lot of raw meat. |
